Gallego 4-8 Fine Arts Magnet School

The Gootter-Jensen Foundation has distributed more than 600 Automated External Defibrillators, known as AEDs, across Southern Arizona, placing lifesaving equipment in school, nonprofit organizations, places of worship, public safety agencies, and other community locations.

We are pleased to announce that Gallego Intermediate Fine Arts School is the proud recipient of a new AED device donated by the Gootter-Jensen Foundation to help protect student-athletes, coaches, staff, families and visitors. This gift was made possible through a generous grant from Angel Charity for Children, which is supporting the Foundation’s effort to expand AED access for high school athletic programs throughout Pima County.

The AED will be placed in our Gallego Intermediate Gymnasium, where it can be quickly accessed in the event of a cardiac emergency. All students and staff will be educated about the location and importance of the AED.

This donation supports the Gootter-Jensen Foundation’s mission to prevent sudden cardiac death by expanding access to AEDs and increasing awareness of the importance of emergency preparedness.

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen without warning, including during athletic practices, games, and other school activities. Having an AED nearby, and trained adults prepared to respond, can make a lifesaving difference.

We are grateful to the Gootter-Jensen Foundation for this generous donation and to the Angel Charity for Children for helping make this important community safety initiative possible.

we’re excited to invite you and your family to our 8th Annual Back to School Bash!

Join us Saturday, July 11th, starting at 2:00 PM for an afternoon of giving back to our community.

We’ll be offering discounted haircuts for students, FREE backpacks filled with school supplies, hygiene kits for our middle and high school students, FREE Eegee’s, and FREE hot dogs from El Jefe Hot Dogs—all while supplies last!

Reminder to all 8th grade families: The 8th grade promotion is upon us! We need your help to remember that the goal is to make positive memories. Please leave blow horns, balloons, inflatables, or large posters at home (simple flower bouquets are ok). Any items that may obstruct the view of another person will be asked to be left in your vehicles. Also, for safety reasons, we highly recommend that anyone with heat sensitivities exercise caution. If there isn't enough room in the gym, there is no overflow seating at Desert View, and tomorrow it will be a very hot afternoon. Bleachers will be completely filled. It’s our annual end of year 8th grade trip! This fabulous group of students are off to Universal Studios in California! We wish them well and we can’t wait to hear all about it when they return!
