After finishing their linoleum prints, the Teen Printmaking class tried their hand at Gelli printing! Using acrylic paint or Speedball printing ink, the students rolled templates and texture pads onto gel plates, building their designs in colorful layers before printing them onto paper.
This process is all about layering—similar to screen printing, but much more fluid and experimental. The students loved seeing how each layer changed the print, and every piece came out completely unique. Lots of creativity and happy surprises! ✨

Students in the Artists Workshop Printmaking section explored reductive carving using linoleum cutters and Speedball Speedy-Carve blocks. We looked at the work of Edvard Munch and Pablo Picasso to see how artists use printmaking to create bold images and repeat designs.
Students learned how to safely carve their blocks, plan their designs, and transfer their images through the printing process. They really enjoyed the hands-on experience and came up with some creative and thoughtful designs. It was exciting to see their ideas come to life in print! #
