It’s Arts in Education Week! Collier is thankful for how Ms. Maldonado and Ms. Wendy work together to merge OMA and AVID for our 6th grade students. They completed this research project on comparing musical genres and presented them to each other and other classes.

It’s Arts in Education Week! Collier is thankful for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Music in Schools program that allows our students to experience professional musicians demonstrate their music, and a field trip to hear the entire orchestra perform. This is provided with your generous Arizona Tax Credit Donations. Thank you!

It’s Arts in Education Week! Collier is thankful for our Musical Theater Team who come each week to work with First grade students to create their own musical theater production.

Today students helped start our garden for the year. Each class will have the opportunity to help care for the garden during their lunch times. We planted tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, sunflowers, cucumber, broccoli, and pumpkin.

It’s Arts in Education Week! Collier is thankful for Band and Orchestra! Our 4th grade students all learn the violin, and 5th and 6th grade students get to choose Band or Orchestra! We are thankful for our Band and Orchestra teachers Mr. Weston, Mr. Werner, and Mr. Williford!

It’s Arts in Education Week! Collier is thankful for the art around our school! In addition to the amazing murals, tiles, and stained glass each month students choose art prints to display in their classroom that tie to the lessons they have learned in OMA class!

It’s Arts in Education Week! Collier is thankful for Opening Minds Through the Arts, OMA! Each week students receive lessons from Ms Wendy that focus on dance, art history, recorders, and many other art genres.

We had a BLAST at 2nd Saturday this morning! Can’t wait to see you all October 10th for our 2nd Saturday Paint Party! Adults are welcome to help us paint the cafeteria and painting activities for kids!
