A newly issued patent, invented by Professor Winslow Burleson at The University of Arizona U of A College of Information Science, and his colleague Michael Lobardi, introduces a way for divers, robots, and underwater vehicles to connect and communicate without needing a surface ship or tethered connection. The technology aims to make underwater exploration, research, and robotics faster, safer, and more connected.
