Since 1990, Arizona’s oldest & most authentic Bujinkan dojo, by Dai Shihan Jeffrey Prather. Anshu Stephen Hayes first brought Bujinkan Ninjutsu to the the US.

Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu or Ninjutsu is over 900 years old and is the original mixed martial art. One of the last true complete warrior arts, Budo Taijutsu incorporates strikes, kicks, grappling, and a myriad of weapons into one organic, intuitive system that utilizes timing, distance and flow in place of speed and strength. The Bujinkan USA Yamaneko (Mountain Cat) Dojo in Tucson was founded in 19

Much needed discussion. Hatsumi sensei formally took me as his ushideshi in 1984. Until his retirement I have loyally transmitted his traditional teachings. With his retirement, and as the third senior U.S. Jugodan I respectfully believe it is now permissible to modify Bujikan taijutsu. Not in response to so-called combat sports. As a combat veteran I assure all there is no such thing. And BJJ was so successful because of rigged rules. But for shingen gata. Thus I have removed the over extended punches that no one in reality throws. And I emphasize sabaki not kumite. Note that cutting edge MMA guys no longer spar, but instead lightly play! Sound familiar?

So tired of hearing that Bujinkan doesn’t work, or MMA or BJJ is best.

Especially from non-veterans and non-cops who have only performed in rules-based competitions.

Putting aside that Bujinkan taijutsu has worked for me in both mil and LE conflicts, my question is -best at what?

In my Bujinkan dojo, I’ve had pediatric cancer kids recover, and their parents credit the dojo training.

I’ve had teens who contemplated su***de credit me and the dojo with saving their lives.

We just had a multi-transplant survivor and parent thank us for being the only ones they could turn to in crisis.

In my experience, I have seen no other Bujinkan dojo, that has done more life-saving than the https://bujinkanusa.com.

The ultimate purpose of budo is to save lives.

So from my view, as someone with 19 years as a special agent, 25 years as a soldier and 59 years as a martial artist, the Bujinkan saves lives.

So it works. BJJ and MMA may win more matches. But my Bujinkan dojo saves lives.

Absolutely love this! So true. And hilarious. Worth a listen.

And yes, I’ve known some humble and sincere BJJers too.

Tough talkers aren’t.
