Words have power, and today, our students used theirs to shine! 🌟

This week was our Writers’ Celebration, the culmination of a journey through narrative, expository, poetry, and opinion writing. Our authors hand-selected their favorite pieces to share with their families in an event filled with pride and connection.

The best part? The feedback loop! Families left notes celebrating favorite lines, specific "why we love this" moments, and words of admiration for our authors. The campus was buzzing with happiness!

To our authors: Keep writing. Your voices are incredible. ❤️

From tiny boots in Kindergarten to leading the line dance as Fifth Graders! 🤠

This year’s Rodeo Lunch and Dance was a bittersweet and beautiful milestone for our fifth graders. These students have been part of this Sunrise tradition since their very first year, and seeing them take the floor one last time was a moment full of pride and nostalgia.

Celebrating the Journey!

A Collection of Memories: From learning their first folk dance steps to mastering the most complex line dances, these students have grown up with this tradition. 💙

Friendship & Community: The "Spirit of Sunrise" was on full display as students, families, and staff shared grilled burgers and plenty of laughs. 💛

The Big Finale: Our fifth graders didn’t just dance; they led the way with confidence and joy, showing us all what it means to belong to the Sunrise family. 💙

Watching these friendships flourish over the years is what makes our school so special. We appreciate Ms. Dover organizing the event! It truly is great to be at Sunrise! ☀️

Dust off those boots and grab a plate! 🤠

Our Sunrise families gathered for one of our favorite traditions: the Rodeo Lunch and Dance. From the sizzle of the grilled burgers to the rhythmic stomping on the dance floor, the energy was absolutely infectious.

The Moves: Students showed off their impressive folk dancing skills and led the crowd in some high-energy line dances. 💙

The Grub: Nothing beats a classic grilled burger shared with good company. 🍔

The Heart: More than just a party, this event is about that deep sense of belonging and the pride we feel as a community.

A massive shout-out to Ms. Dover for leading the charge and making sure everyone stayed in step! Seeing the joy and happiness on our students' faces is what the Sunrise tradition is all about. ☀️

Full hearts and full tummies! 🌮

We had a fun time at Seis Kitchen bringing families together. There’s nothing quite like the sense of belonging that comes from sharing a meal, laughter, and a common goal. Grateful for this amazing community! A special thank you to our FFO for organizing this fun event! 💙💛💙

🚀 Blast Off! Our 1st-grade musicians took us on a journey through the stars today! 🪐

From singing and playing rhythm instruments to choreographed movement patterns, these young artists showed us what true collaboration looks like. They didn't just perform; they taught us all about the solar system!

Our hearts are full of pride and happiness. Huge kudos to Ms. Flores for directing such a stellar show! 🌟

We are so incredibly proud of our 1st-grade musicians! 🎶

Today’s performance was a beautiful display of teamwork. The students collaborated through song, speech, and rhythm instruments to lead their family and friends on an educational tour of the solar system.

From the initial "blast off" to traveling through deep space, these students filled the room with joy. Thank you to Ms. Flores for her dedication and direction in bringing this space adventure to life! 🌟 🚀

Galloping into the Year of the Horse! 🐎

Our Spring Chinese Festival was a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and student achievement. From the stage to the art gallery, our students truly shined! Our students successfully communicate in English and Mandarin as we celebrate the Year of the Horse!

Galloping into the Year of the Horse! 🐎✨

Our 5th-grade Chinese Immersion students took the stage at the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center’s Lunar New Year Festival, and they were absolutely magnificent!

To celebrate 2026, the Year of the Horse, our students performed the Fan Dance—an ancient folk art form with a rich history spanning over 3,000 years. Through graceful and symbolic movements, they brought traditional folktales to life right before our eyes.

Watching our students bridge language and art to honor this beautiful tradition makes us so incredibly proud. Happy Lunar New Year to our entire Sunrise community! 🏮🧧

Starting the Day with Sunshine and Community! ☀️

There is nothing quite like the sense of belonging we feel here at Sunrise. Our 5th-grade students, families, and teachers enjoyed a beautiful start to the day together, sharing stories and smiles before the first bell.

A huge thank you to our incredible FFO volunteers for sponsoring and setting up such a delicious spread! Our families loved the fresh fruit, bagels, juice, and—the crowd favorite—hot chocolate! 🥯🍓☕

As we always say, “It is great to be at Sunrise!” We truly have the best learning community.
