Teacher Tuesday………::Hi, everyone calls me Mr. Jeremiah! I have been a part of the Hudlow family since 2014, and it’s safe to say that I truly love being here. Hudlow is more than just a workplace to me. The students and staff feel like family. I take great pride in helping keep our school safe, welcoming, and clean, but my favorite part of the job is building relationships with our students. Whether I’m playing games like Colors or Tag during lunch recess or simply sharing a smile and encouragement, I enjoy being part of their day. One of the greatest rewards of my job is watching our students grow from kindergarteners into confident fifth graders. Seeing their growth year after year is something I feel incredibly fortunate to experience.
I am a native Arizonan and have lived in Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Tucson. I have nine siblings and helped raise four of them, which sparked my passion for working with children from a young age. I earned an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have worked with children since I was a teenager.
Outside of school, I enjoy listening to rock music and meditative music, playing video games, and working on art projects. One fun fact is that I write poetry!

Hudlow Teacher Tuesday…………My name is Kara Wise, and I am excited to be teaching 5th Grade Reading and Math, as well as 4th Grade Math. I began my teaching career at a charter school, where I worked for five years. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach 2nd through 5th grade. I have spent the most time in 5th grade because I love watching students develop their ideas, build confidence, and grow as learners.
I have been part of the Hudlow family for seven years, and I truly love being a Hawk! It is a privilege to teach, support, encourage, and watch our little Hawks grow and learn each day. I am grateful to work alongside such wonderful students, families, and staff.
I am originally from Connecticut, but my family and I moved to Arizona 19 years ago. Over the years, Tucson has become home, and I proudly consider myself a Tucsonan.
I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories with my students. I am so excited to continue being part of the Hudlow Hawk family!

Hudlow Teacher Tuesday………My name is Mayra Jauregui, and I am honored to serve as the Curriculum Service Provider at Hudlow Elementary. My journey at Hudlow began nine years ago when I started my teaching career as a first-grade teacher. Since then, I have had the privilege of teaching second grade and, most recently, serving as a reading interventionist. My favorite part of each day is greeting our students in the morning and reminding them just how happy we are to see them. There is no better way to start the day!

As CSP this year, one of my roles is collaborating with teachers to design engaging lessons and analyze student data to help guide instruction. I am excited to work alongside each grade level to create memorable learning experiences for our students. One of my favorite parts of my job is planning family nights! I love the sense of community we have built together and the opportunity to continue strengthening those connections each year.

I am originally from the small border town of San Luis, Arizona. My parents’ experiences as immigrants have greatly influenced my values as an educator. I strongly believe that schools should be places where every student and family feels safe, supported, and welcomed.

I am so grateful to be part of the Hudlow family and look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and building community together!

My name is Trish Miller, and I teach kindergarten at our wonderful school! I have been blessed to have spent my career as a Hawk of 29 years here at Hudlow! Getting to know and spending time learning with students and families always brings light to my heart. I love to witness the ‘aha’ moment when a child gains understanding or the joyful smiles of excitement of reaching a goal academically, socially, or emotionally. Whether it be conquering the monkey bars, reading sentences or building a new friendship it is heartwarming!

I was born and raised in Colorado. My parents taught me a strong work ethic balancing that with family time. Part of my hawk heart will always call Colorado home, and my wings take me there to visit often to hug my brother, nieces and friends. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado and my master’s degree from Grand Canyon University. Outside of school I spend time with my two sons and my husband. I always have a puzzle to work on, or I relax on the porch reading and watching birds in my fountain!

Hudlow Teacher Tuesday………

My name is Carlos Gomez and I am the School Counselor at Hudlow Elementary. I have been fortunate enough to be here for the last 11 years. As the School Counselor, I have many responsibilities and goals I have to meet; some are personal and other inherited by the nature of the job. My main goals and priorities are creating a safe learning environment for all students, maintaining a sense of belonging and identity between all students, staff and other stakeholders. Engaging in direct, honest and open communication , and fostering a growth mindset through resilience and developing an ongoing sense of self. Prior to becoming a School Counselor, I held several positions with clinical experience at CODAC Behavioral Health and with the Arizona Smoker's Helpline (ASHLINE) where I worked mainly on addiction, risk behaviors, and skill management among other scopes. Growing up and coming from an extensive Mexican family, I quickly learned how to care for and be around kids. While living in Mexico we held summer camps in for local kids and extended family members. As a teenager and young adult, I worked at a family-owned childcare business taking care of infants and toddlers. Later on, as I prepared to graduate from the University of Arizona with a dual degree (Psychology and Spanish Literature) I went on to work at La Petite Academy as a preschool teacher and then I proceeded to become the Center Director for the Robins K-8 after school program through Child and Family Resources. All in all, I have over 25 years of experience working with kids of all ages and with young adults. I enjoy seeing the faces full of smiles, surprise, excitement and wonder day in and day out. Nothing compares to the sensation of accomplishment we experience when we see a student reach a milestone, conquer a previous fear or excel in a subject they felt lost and overwhelmed with. I hope you take the opportunity to join us by either engaging us through social media or in person as a volunteer.
