2020 Order of Omega Greek Awards | Fraternity & Sorority Programs 03/01/2021

The Order of Omega Greek Awards Banquet is one of our favorite events of the year. We use it as a chance to celebrate our chapters and their individuals accomplishments. This year, for obvious reasons, we can't hold our standard 400+ person banquet, but we still wanted to celebrate our community.

Yesterday over 2,000 UA Greek students listened to Lianne Kowiak and Rich Braham share their stories of how they lost their sons to fraternity hazing. Their mission is simple - raise awareness to the dangers of hazing and to save lives. Hazing prevention is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone can support hazing prevention legislation. Congratulations to Steve Schuyler, ARIZONA 1979, who was elected today to serve the Sigma Chi International Fraternity as Grand Consul. The Grand Consul is the president of the International Fraternity. He was initiated into the Beta Phi chapter in 1977, after completion of his service in the U.S. Army’s military police. He served the chapter as recruitment chairman and as Consul and has continued supporting Sigma Chi at the international and local levels throughout his professional career. He is the 3rd Grand Consul from Beta Phi, joining Purdue as the only chapters with 3 Grand Consuls. Arizona currently has two alumni serving as international president, as Renee Smith Zimmerman Zainer is Alpha Phi’s International President.

Karl Eller, member of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Arizona, was a husband, father, grandfather, executive, entrepreneur, veteran, Arizonan and an alumnus. He let us all, every day, act with integrity, think entrepreneurially, embrace change and transform our challenges into opportunities.

In this way, we will honor Karl’s memory, live up to his name and continue his legacy.
