CMC Spotlight on
Nora Johnson, MA, CMC
St. Louis, MO

Nora Johnson, MA, CMC, is a Client Care Manager based in St. Louis, Missouri. With a Master’s degree in Gerontology and a passion for supporting older adults and their families, Nora specializes in aging and home care services. She is an Advanced Professional member of the Aging Life Care Association.

Nora’s path into care management was deeply personal. Growing up close to her grandparents, she witnessed firsthand the challenges her family faced as her grandmother lived with Alzheimer’s disease. Navigating the healthcare system, coordinating care, and making complex decisions left a lasting impression.

Earning her Care Manager Certified (CMC) credential was a natural extension of her commitment to the field. Nora values the CMC as a meaningful professional designation that reflects both her academic background and hands-on experience. She appreciates the ongoing continuing education opportunities, which allow her to stay current and continually enhance the quality of care she provides. The credential not only sets her apart professionally but also reinforces her confidence and credibility as a trusted expert in aging.

One of the most impactful lessons Nora has learned in her work is the importance of listening. She recognizes that families often come to care managers feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. By taking the time to truly hear their concerns and understand their goals, she helps create thoughtful, personalized care plans that support both the older adult and the entire family. Her approach emphasizes slowing down, prioritizing what matters most, and moving forward step by step.

💬 “Often, the most impactful thing we can do is help families slow down, prioritize what matters most, and move forward one step at a time.”

CMC Spotlight on Karen Crock, CMC
Byesville, OH

Karen serves as a Transition Coordinator in Senior Services at National Church Residences, based in Byesville, Ohio. She brings more than two decades of experience across home health, mental health group homes, and long-term care settings.

Karen’s journey into aging services began at a young age, inspired by helping care for her step-grandmother who lived with Alzheimer’s. That early experience sparked a passion that has shaped her entire career. Years later, when her own grandmother needed care at age 85, Karen stepped in to coordinate and manage her needs.

Earning the Certified Care Manager (CMC) designation represents a meaningful milestone in Karen’s journey. “This credential validates the work I’ve done throughout my career,” she shares. “For me, this is more than a job, it’s a mission. The CMC reassures those I serve that they are in capable and compassionate hands.”

Karen views care management as a calling, one centered on serving others. “The reward is in making life better for others during their time of need.”

In addition to her current role, Karen is also a certified Life Coach and Funeral Celebrant, having officiated services that support families through end-of-life transitions, further reflecting her holistic approach to care across the lifespan.
