Testing Traveling Trailer Telescope at Sabino Canyon this morning.

Second of a series... Astronomy Talk at Sabino Canyon on
14 Sept 2024.

The US Forest Service approved my public outreach program at Sabino Canyon. A series of monthly talks about a topic in astronomy including an observing session will be presented. The first talk, about T CrB the Blaze Star, was held on 3 Aug. The second talk will be about the Moon on 14 Sept, which is also the NASA International Observe the Moon night. Pictured here is the trailer telescope that I built. It will be used in support of the monthly talks. During transport the OTA and counter weight shaft and weight are removed. A test drive with this configuration proved successful. Remounting the OTA and weight then doing a night sky test showed that the telescope acquired and tracked the specified objects flawlessly. Telescope controlled with ASIAIR Pro. Display of image will be on a 32 inch monitor (Not pictured)
