Calling all Indigenous artists, students, and Tucson community members!

Help us honor Orange Shirt Day by creating a design that reflects the message of Every Child Matters.

Orange Shirt Day recognizes the survivors of Indian Boarding Schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and acknowledges the lasting impacts these institutions have had on Indigenous families and communities.

Contest Guidelines:
🧡 Design must represent the meaning of Orange Shirt Day.
🎨 Maximum of 3 colors.
🖌️ Any artistic medium is welcome, as long as it can be printed on a t-shirt.
✨ Must be original artwork.
🚫 No AI-generated or previously published designs.
📩 One submission per person.
📣 Tucson Indian Center Staff will vote for the design on August 24, 2026

The winning design will be featured on this year's Orange Shirt Day t-shirt, helping share the message of remembrance, healing, and resilience throughout our community.

Do you know a seventh or eighth-grade student interested in science, medicine and helping others?

Banner - University Medical Center is hosting a fall session of Camp Scrubs during Oct. 12-16.

During this hands-on, weeklong camp, students will explore health care careers through hospital tours, clinical demonstrations, operating room simulations and time with medical professionals.

Camp costs $400, and scholarships are available. Applications close July 31 at 5:00 p.m.. Applicants must submit a short video explaining why they want to participate.

Looking for an exciting and engaging summer program where students learn how algebra is applied to the real world, and launch water bottle rockets? Did I mention the Algebra Academy is FREE! Must be an 8th grader promoting into 9th grade. Please share widely!

Sites include Alta Vista HS, Sunnyside High School(also serving Desert View High School) and a Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) site at Tucson High Magnet School.
