From 2008 to 2016, Mr. Jeannes was the President and CEO of Goldcorp Inc., the world's largest gold mining company by market capitalization. Professor Lacy is the Director of the Global Mining Law Center and a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.

Mr. Jeannes was instrumental in developing Goldcorp into one of the world's largest and most successful gold mining companies. While Mr. Jeannes ran Goldcorp, it’s market capitalization reached $45 billion; it generated up to $5.4 billion in annual revenue; it produced up to 3.4 million ounces of gold annually; it produced up to 40 million ounces of silver annually; it employed as many as 18,000 people; and it operated mines in six countries: Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Argentina.

Mr. Jeannes graduated from the James E. Rogers College of Law in 1983 and practiced law mining law for 11 years before transitioning into management. He was the College of Law's Alumni of the Year in 2015. Mr. Jeannes currently serves as the Chairman of Orla Mining Ltd., and he is on the board of directors of Pan American Silver Corp. and Wheaton Precious Metals Corp.

The webinar is scheduled for Thursday February 18th, beginning at 12:15 p.m. The webinar will address the importance of environmental, social, and governance issues in modern mining, and Mr. Jeannes’ transition from the practice of law to leading a large international corporation.
