Why Douglas Tutoring?

I got my bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in Public Administration. I began tutoring students about 12 years ago. And in that time I have met some super bright kids as well as students that were challenging. I have an outgoing and fun personality, so I was able to teach those students that couldn’t retain the information as good as others. It was the connection I get from these children that are trying their hardest to learn but sometimes cannot succeed. I truly think that a couple tutoring sessions with me will get the ball rolling for the students in aiming for a better school year. Not only do I tutor and help children learn to read and math too, but I also teach organization and study skills. Most children just need a nudge so they can start becoming independent learners. I have see many kids come into tutoring session and will not speak but do pay attention. In about 3 sessions later these children are laughing, talking, and are so eager to learn the material for that day. I understand that many students learn differently, and this is why I provide many visual aids as well as fun learning games. I also believe that when a child is having fun with the learning process, they are more likely to raise up their hand and answer the correct answer in their classroom.

Online Tutoring

I moved to Tucson in October of 2018 from Douglas, AZ. I realized that it took an extra hour to get from point A to point B with all the traffic so I decided to try tutoring online! Not only am I doing a great job with it but I also have students as far as Georgia who I am tutoring.
