Flight School Acro

Since that time we have had a rotating group of about ten core members with a long list of guests and collaborators.

Born from the work of talented teachers and creators in the field of integrative movement, Flight School formed in 2010 as a loose association of dedicated acroyoga practitioners. Flight School seeks to meld modern and traditional dance, yoga asana, acrobatics, movement arts, visual theater, music, capoiera, circus, burlesque, writing, film, and photography into a rich multi-media tapestry dedicated to inspiring others. Our style is a fusion of our varied artistic backgrounds and the desire to create work that is compelling, beautiful, playful, and challenging. Performance take place everywhere from galleries and museums, to clubs and street festivals. With material that is suitable for a wide range of audiences and preferences, we focus on creating fun and interactive themes for your event. We are available for weddings, parties, openings, school and corporate events, and theatrical engagements.

Year of the White Metal Ox

Like a bull in the ring, this year will command us to summon our grit and stamina - to dig our heels deeper into the historic challenges exposed by 2020.

Metal is symbolized by refined metal like jewelry and wire, which are pliable and flexible. It will require us to contend with truth’s more mutable and subtle nature. What we are asked to refine and let go of this year is our desire to know, and our conviction that we are right.

The way to deal with this is to develop a working relationship to the unknown. The Metal Ox year will be full of events that will leave you feeling more unsatisfied, not less. Be wary of the ways your desire for closure is being taken advantage of.

What does the incomplete leave us with? The creative mystery of potential. Rather than feeding your need to know what will happen next, meditate on the idea that not knowing is a form of protection. To love things as they are - in process and incomplete. Revel in the mystery and embrace who you are becoming.
