Our students recently experienced the full journey of hatching and learning about chickens, from tracking egg development, monitoring the incubator, researching the life cycle, and witnessing chicks hatch right before their eyes.
Moments like these remind us that the best learning happens when students can see it, touch it, question it, and connect to it in real life. š„š
At TCDS, learning isnāt just something students read about⦠itās something they experience.

Today was a special moment in the story of TCDS as we officially unveiled the newly dedicated Richard & Susan Cooper Court!
Founder Richard Cooper and his wife, Susan, laid the foundation for a school built on the belief that all students are special and destined to succeed. Their vision, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment created a place that has impacted generations of students, families, and staff.
This court now stands as more than just a space for athletics and community gatherings. It is a lasting reminder of the heart, leadership, and legacy that helped shape Tucson Country Day School into what it is today.
Thank you, Richard and Susan, for dreaming boldly, serving faithfully, and building something that continues to change lives every single day.

Learning doesnāt stay inside four walls at TCDS.
Whether itās finding focus out on the field or turning everyday spaces into places of discovery, our Champions are learning how to think, observe, and engage with the world around them.
Because when students own their learning⦠they can do it anywhere.

Back-to-back. Shoulder-to-shoulder. Champion-to-Champion.
This is what connectedness looks like at TCDSā¦students who show up for each other, support one another, and turn everyday moments into something meaningful.
Because here, itās more than just a lunch table⦠itās a place where belonging lives.

In this moment, itās more than basketballā¦itās leadership in action.
Our Champions are learning how to communicate, trust one another, and problem-solve as a team.
From the huddle to the court, these are the moments where confidence is built, voices are heard, and growth happens.
At Tucson Country Day School, we donāt just play the gameā¦
we develop collaborators, thinkers, and leaders.

Learning you can see. Thinking you can touch. š”
Our Champions are building math understanding from the ground up, whether itās solving on the board, collaborating on the carpet, or using hands-on tools to make sense of numbers. This is what it looks like when students donāt just get the answer⦠they understand the why behind it.
At TCDS, weāre not just doing math, weāre developing problem solvers, thinkers, and confident learners. š§

šØšļø Building More Than a Structure⦠Building Skills That Matter
Our 6th grade Champions are hard at work constructing a brand new citadel for our chickens and every student has a critical role to play. This isnāt just a project⦠itās real-world learning in action.
š· Foreman ā leading the team, keeping the vision on track

š± Landscaper ā shaping the environment around the build
š Surveyor ā measuring, mapping, and ensuring precision
š¤ Docent ā telling the story, guiding others through the work
No passengers. Everyone contributes. Everyone matters.
This is what happens when learning steps outside the classroom: collaboration, agency, and purpose come to life.

šØ Learning that leaves a mark⦠literally.
Our 4th grade Champions are turning a blank wall into a story, one brushstroke at a time.
This mural project is more than art. Itās:
āļø Collaboration
āļø Creativity
āļø Problem-solving
āļø Pride in their school
When students create something real, something lasting, the learning sticks differently.
At TCDS, we believe the best learning doesnāt stay on paper, it shows up in the world around us.
