We are excited to share some wonderful news with you! Thanks to your support of the recent bonds and override measures, Rio Vista has completed construction of our new parking lot and sidewalk. These improvements will make drop-off and pick-up much safer for all of our students, and we are grateful for your investment in our school community.

What's New?

The new parking lot and sidewalk have been designed with student safety as the top priority. Pick up and drop off entry point will now be off of Mountain Ave. We have provided an overview map with arrows of the new procedure. These enhancements will help us create a more organized and secure process for getting students to and from school each day.

New Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

Effective Wednesday, August 5th, we will be implementing the following procedures:

New procedures for Drop-off (7:10am-7:30am)

• Gates open at 7:10

• Drive north on Mountain Ave and turn right onto Prospect Lane, making a sharp right into the parking lot drive

• Proceed south until you see the stop signs

• There will be 4-5 loading spots, with a stop sign at each

• Please do not drop off your students before reaching this point

Once in a spot, have your students exit on the left side of the vehicle, to every extent possible
• After unloading, proceed through the parking lot to exit onto Limberlost

• Please keep your vehicle to the left through this route

• Staff will be stationed to assist during this process

Gates close at 7:30am. Any arrivals after this time are tardy and we will need you to proceed through the route, park in the lot, and es**rt your child into the office to sign them in.
New procedures for Pick-off

• Loading begins at 2:25

• Write your student(s)'s name on the turquoise placard, placing it on your dashboard (driver's side). Please keep extra placards for any other vehicles that may be used to pick up your student(s)

• Follow the route explained above, stopping at one of the stop signs

• Once we can read your placard, your student(s) will be called to load into your vehicle when you have reached one of the five loading spots

• Then proceed through the parking lot to exit onto Limberlost

• Please keep your vehicle to the left through this route

• Have your students board your vehicle on the left side of the vehicle, to every extent possible

• Staff will be stationed to assist during this process

What You Can Do to Help

• Arrive on time to help traffic flow smoothly

• Follow staff directions - our team will be outside to guide you

• Be patient as we all adjust to the new system together

• Understand that there will be no parking and walking your student to class or the gate

• Review these procedures with your child so they know what to expect
