Bodies of Water is about flowing through the wisdom of Black women, mothers, grandmothers, aunties, neighbors, carrying ancestral memory, love, and survival. The accompanying short film moves like the sea, demonstrating the ancestral presence, unfolding, transforming, and becoming of motherhood. Featuring Paulo Ramos (Afro-Brazilian visual artist, performer, poet, and scholar), whose multidisciplinary work centers Afro-Brazilian identity, water, and mothering across time.

Join us for a day of learning, kin-making, and imagining! ✨
Our annual conference will occur on April 1, 2026 from 9:30 AM-4:00 PM in ENR2 and on Zoom. We have a fantastic array of presentations and performances spanning our theme, “Becoming Within Death and Kaleidoscopic Grief.” In addition to student and community-led workshops, we will be joined by keynote speaker, Yaffa.
