Our Department offers a wide variety of academic programs and sponsors various conferences and cultural events.

We equip students with the analytical skills necessary to undertake linguistic, cultural and literary investigation so that they are able to communicate their views effectively in written and spoken Spanish and Portuguese. Located in Tucson, AZ on the Campus of the University of Arizona, 60 miles from the border with Mexico, the Department benefits from the intersection of people and culture that only the southwest can provide.
