Congratulations to Zack Witherel on an outstanding performance at the Arizona State Championships!

Over the last few weeks, Zack has been learning some of the advanced systems we’ve been developing at Daimyo. Instead of relying on the techniques he had spent years refining, he made the decision to step onto one of the biggest stages in Arizona and trust a game he’s been practicing for less than a month.

That takes courage.

Winning is exciting, but what makes us the proudest isn’t the medal—it’s Zack’s willingness to trust the process, embrace discomfort, and continue growing even when it means stepping into the unknown.

This is only the beginning of what we believe these advanced systems can become.

A huge thank you to Zack’s parents for trusting us with the development of their son. We never take that responsibility lightly. Thank you for believing in our vision and allowing us to challenge, encourage, and help shape these young athletes both on and off the mats.

Thank you as well to our entire coaching staff and team. Every teammate who drills, trains, pushes, and supports one another plays a role in moments like these. Championships may be won by individuals, but they are built by a team.

Congratulations, Zack. We’re proud of the competitor you’re becoming, but even more proud of the young man you’re choosing to be. The best is still ahead.

This weekend, two of our students stepped onto the mats with a very specific mission.

For the last month, we’ve been developing some advanced systems that we believe will surprise a lot of people in the future. Rather than relying on the techniques they already knew, these two committed to testing only the new games they’ve been learning.

That takes courage.

They weren’t chasing the safest path to victory. They were willing to put themselves in uncomfortable positions in order to grow.

We’re incredibly proud of their results—bringing home Gold and Silver—but we’re even more proud of the character they displayed.

At Daimyo, success isn’t measured only by medals. It’s measured by the discipline to trust the process, the humility to keep learning, and the courage to apply new skills when it matters most.

Congratulations, Uriah and Haddie. This is only the beginning. The future is exciting, and we’re grateful to be on this journey together. 🔥💪

To attend our Open Mats, you must have an active membership at any academy.

For our Daimyo students:

* Blue belts and above are encouraged to attend the Advanced Class.
* The Youth Level 3 class is invitation only. Only students who have been invited may attend.

*The Sunday wrestling class is open to all of our students. We encourage all of you to attend

This Tuesday we promoted 5 new kids to Level 2
