Today, Walker Elementary celebrated AVID Impact Day! AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) gives our students and staff the tools to build strong study habits, ask great questions, stay organized, and believe in what they can achieve. From marking the text to breaking down barriers, our whole school community showed why AVID matters — one classroom, one conversation, one "I am organized!" at a time.

This morning we had our first awards ceremony of the school year! 🐺

This month we focused on the Promise of a Graduate characteristic of scholarship.🎓 We recognized and celebrated students who have shown exceptional scholarship throughout the month of August.

Today was our first assembly of the year. We celebrated many students this morning, including two incredibly kind kids— Julian and Nova! We are so lucky to have these kind kids as part of our pack! 🐺💗

Welcome back to school, Walker Wolves! 🐺

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5th, is the first day of school. We will open the gates for parent drop off at 7:10 AM and there will be photo props available to take first day of school photos. 📸

Our school day will begin promptly at 7:25 AM. 📚✏️ Parents are invited to join Ms. Reynolds for Pastries with the Principal at that time. 🍩

Wednesday is early release with dismissal at 12:25 PM. Please be patient if you plan to pick up your child because the first day is the busiest day of the year! 🚗🛻🚙

We can't wait to see you!

Yesterday our Kindergartners graduated and are officially 1st graders! 🎉

Our Walker Wolves have been working hard all year and we couldn’t be prouder of how much they’ve grown! 🐺

Before our students in grades 2-5 took their end of the year reading and math MAP benchmark assessments, Ms. Reynolds promised to let the students who grew the most from each class pie her! 😃 With their eyes on that prize, our students took their time, did their best, and blew us away with their growth! 🎉

Today was Pie Day and Ms. Reynolds stayed true to her promise— over 20 students got to pie her! 😯
