How we start our day, everyday. The morning rhythms of animal care draw us into showing up without fail. When we’re tired, sick, excited, and all of the above this is a commitment to our animals and to ourselves that we can learn about how we show up and commit to ourselves in other parts of our lives.
What’s your favorite morning rhythm? Have you ever milked a goat?
I had a family mention that their scheduled farm days are always pleasant because they are looking forward to time with their chosen horse and that it frames their mindset for the week.
This isn’t by chance, but a result of the physiological response from time spent with the horses, and in nature.
What a gift to witness and to notice.
One of the greatest gifts we can give kids, and ourselves, is connection to the natural world.
Animals, plants, dirt, responsibility, patience… it all builds resilience in quiet ways. 🤍
