Dr. Yong Ge, Associate Professor of MIS and Eller Fellow, and Dr. Yanan Wang, Assistant Professor at UT Arlington and an Eller MIS PhD alumnus, published a paper in Information Systems Research. In early May, Dr. Seokjun Youn received the Inaugural Faculty Advisor of the Year Award during the Eller Partnerships Summit. Presented by the Eller Partnerships Office, the award honors an outstanding faculty member whose commitment to mentorship and experiential education has made a lasting impact on students and partners alike. Dr. Bill Neumann and Dr. Yong Ge both received awards from the Eller College of Management this spring. Dr. Neumann was a recipient of the Dean’s Service Award, and Dr. Ge was a recipient of the Kalt Prize for PhD Student Placement. Congratulations!

Keegan Brown, the founder and CEO of ATRA, a Tempe-based paid media marketing agency, earned his master’s in MIS from Eller in 2017. Now he’s giving back to Eller through a newly established scholarship called the ATRA Outlier Award. Congratulations to Tianyang Xie, the recipient of this year’s Moshe Dror Research Excellence Award! Named in honor of Dr. Moshe Dror, who retired from Eller as a professor emeritus in 2018, this award is given to an Eller doctoral student whose research is computationally intensive and has had or has potential to make an impact on industry and/or society.

Tianyang’s research interests include machine learning, deep learning, and network science. He completed his PhD this spring and will join Indiana University as an assistant professor in the fall.

Congratulations to Desirae Hoaglin, the Spring 2026 MIS Outstanding Senior! The U of A’s Outstanding Senior Awards program was established in 1971 to recognize the outstanding performances of the university’s best seniors.

Congratulations to Yutong Liu, the recipient of the 2026 James F. LaSalle Teaching Excellence Award!

Each spring, the LaSalle Teaching Excellence Award is given to an MIS graduate student instructor who exemplifies the best of teaching and follows Dr. Jim LaSalle’s example of excellence in the classroom. It was established in honor of Jim LaSalle, who taught at Eller for more than 40 years.
