As a value based business, we will be taking tomorrow off in support of the national action against the abusive operations carried out by ICE, as not only an attack on undocumented immigrants but all of us as a whole. This land is native, as the Americas are collectively one land mass that have been stewarded by many indigenous communities, though we recognize that this is a nation comprised of immigrants as well. It is important that we let history inform us about our sense of place, belonging and how we can coexist in peace and humility. We thank you for the understanding and will be back to business as usual on Monday 2/2/26.

As the cold temperatures creep in, you may start to notice yellowing of leaves and leaf drop. This is the natural cycle for many of our shrubs as the plants energy stores beneath the soil surface within the roots. This is the ideal time to begin the pruning process in order to reduce potential risk of frost damage, disease, poor structure and more! Ask about rejuvenation pruning and get ready for more dense regrowth this upcoming season.

Ecology is our policy 💪🏽🌱🌵
Recognizing the needs of our community, we have set out to specialize in an ecological approach to landscaping. We value regenerative practices and reuse what most consider waste by turning our green matter into rich mulch and compost with a partnering facility. This enhances soil fertility and structure, promotes healthy plant growth, conserves water and reduces landfill waste and carbon emissions.
Thank you for choosing Cultiva and contributing to our mission of a more green, healthy and sustainable future! 🌎

Regular w**d removal is a crucial part of ridding your yard of invasive plant species that choke out our native plant populations. Each generation of seeds that go to maturity, leads to a higher increase of w**ds the following year and the cycle continues. Help keep the w**d pressure down, contact Cultiva

You’ve still got time to prune those native desert trees in your yard. Intense storms during monsoon season can bring damaging winds. Selective thinning can control tree size and thin the canopy.
Lightening the canopy by thinning internal branches can prevent storm damage before it has a chance to happen. As trees mature, pruning may be necessary to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches.
Warm weather is a better time for healing after pruning.
Why prune a tree?
Promote the health of the tree
Reduce hazards to people
Train a tree while it’s young
Increase or decrease flowers/fruit
Please note that pruning other non-native shrubs and shade trees should be done in winter to avoid sun damage to leaves and trunk during the heat of summer.
If you want to try doing some light pruning on your own, be sure to check out the publication on our website entitled, “Pruning Deciduous Shade Trees (publication # AZ1139). https://extension.arizona.edu/sites/extension.arizona.edu/files/pubs/az1139-2015.pdf
If you’re in need of a certified arborist, “How to Hire a Tree Expert” (publication # AZ1003) can help guide you through the process. https://extension.arizona.edu/sites/extension.arizona.edu/files/pubs/az1003-2020.pdf
These are great resources for learning when to have trees pruned, the benefits of pruning trees, and how to choose the right arborist.
