🐴🦛 GET READY… SET… GO! 🦛🐴

Our students from Tucson School for the Blind had an AMAZING time at Playformance playing a larger-than-life version of Hungry Hungry Hippos! 🎉

With soft balls scattered across the floor, students used scoops, teamwork, movement, and plenty of determination to gather as many “hippo snacks” as they could! 😄

It was so much more than a game—it was an opportunity to move, explore, work together, build confidence, and HAVE FUN! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to Playformance for creating such a fun and welcoming environment where our students can be active, playful, and included. We are so grateful for experiences like these that encourage our students to try new things, connect with others, and simply enjoy being kids. ❤️

Playful. Active. Together. That’s what it’s all about! 🥰

Today, we celebrate the dedication, hard work, and contributions of workers in our community. We’re especially grateful for the educators, staff, families, and advocates who work every day to create opportunities for students who are blind or visually impaired to learn, grow, and thrive.

We are thrilled to celebrate the approval for Tucson School for the Blind to welcome publicly placed students!

This is an exciting step forward in expanding access to specialized education, support, and opportunities for students who are blind or visually impaired.

Here’s to new opportunities, greater access, and a bright future for Tucson’s students! 🌟

In its first month of operation, TSB gains Special Education Program Approval to intake students with disabilities who are currently enrolled in public schools.

Celebrating Week 2 at Tucson School for the Blind!

What a great second week of school! Our students are settling into routines, building connections, learning new things, and making wonderful memories along the way. We’re so proud of the energy and enthusiasm they’re bringing to the school year!

A special thank-you to our amazing community partner, Playformance, for welcoming our students and providing an awesome opportunity for physical movement, play, and teamwork! We’re excited that our students will be visiting Playformance weekly throughout the school year to stay active, build confidence, and have fun!

Here’s to another fantastic week of learning, growing, moving, and making memories together! 🎉

SPEAKING OUT FOR THE BLIND

🎉📚 What a PACKED and FUN first week at Tucson School for the Blind! 📚🎉

The first week of school has been full of learning, laughter, new experiences, and lots of excitement. Our students are already jumping into learning and exploring the world around them.

This week, our K–8th grade students took their first Community-Based Instruction (CBI) trip to our local Juan Valdez Library!

Students learned how to check out books AND how to check out seeds from the library. What a wonderful way to build independence while connecting classroom learning to the community!

Behind the scenes, our amazing teachers, staff, and volunteers have been working hard to make this school year a success. From preparing engaging lessons to supporting our students every step of the way, their dedication and teamwork are truly making a difference.

What an incredible way to kick off the school year! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings! 🌟
