As their final event as CFP Liaisons, Ben Huang and Verenisse Villarino hosted Networking 101, a first-of-its-kind interactive workshop designed to help students build essential networking skills.

The event featured five rotating stations focused on personal introductions, asking better questions, personal branding, and small talk, each led by industry professionals. We were proud to have representatives from Fidelity, Mariner, Regier Carr & Monroe, and Meridian. Students rotated through each station, developing practical skills they can apply in real networking settings.

A couple of weeks ago, President Garimella stopped by McClelland Park to meet with Norton students and tour our new state-of-the-art spaces like the Financial Planning Lab and Lundgren Consumer Science Lab.

Personal and Family Financial Planning students spoke with President Garimella and shared their excitement about the new lab. “I’m excited to start using the lab and gain practical experience with the same top-tier financial planning software used by industry professionals,” one student noted. “I think having access to these tools will give us a leg up as we start our careers.”

Earlier this month, four Personal and Family Financial Planning students attended the Charles Schwab IMPACT Conference in Denver. This annual conference serves as a financial industry hub for education and networking, with this year's sessions focusing on strategies to enhance client services and firm performance.

Students Mac, Logan, Emily, and Justice shared that it was an invaluable experience, saying, “We were excited to engage with so many respected professionals in the CFP community. As students preparing to take the CFP exam, it was a very encouraging and informative experience!”

Homecoming 2025 was one for the books! 🐻⬇️

Hosted by the Norton School Council of Alumni and Friends, the celebration brought together generations of Wildcats for an afternoon of games, a record-setting denim jacket auction, and an alumni-led fashion show!

We loved being part of the celebration and can’t wait to do it again next year.

Our students have been busy creating unique handmade jackets, inspired by Wildcat pride. No two are the same, and every detail reflects the love and legacy of the University of Arizona.
