I took this picture of the birds on the teaching greenhouse the other day. Going with the Bernie trend, my daughter put this together for me! hahahaha

The teaching greenhouse is up and running and in full production!
Despite COVID, we're reaching a huge amount of students this semester... we have an awesome team of 15 interns working on various projects, 16 students in Dr. Tollefson's hydroponics class, and our usual team of student workers keeping it all running smoothly.
Just look at our beautiful produce from this week!

Meet Chris Kaufman, the new president of CEASA club! Chris has been working on optimizing the NFT system that we built last spring. Just look at his beautiful lettuce!

More exciting news, CEASA is preparing to be able to sell our produce directly at the farmers market. Exact location and date TBA, but we will keep you posted.

If you're a UA student interested in getting involved, CEASA is a great place to start!

I am starting the very first h**p research at the Tucson Campus Agriculture Center - CEAC! We are growing the variety called "Janet's G" which is high in CBG. Thanks to our UA Alumni Dr. Hope Jones and Chris Pagliarulo from Adivina for their donation of certified virus-free rooted clones!

A huge thank you to *ta refugee group for their help tearing down the teaching greenhouse last week. The greenhouse is currently empty and in the process of being cleaned for the new crop. The next round has been seeded and will be planted the first week of July.

Meanwhile, we have a beautiful selection of veggies coming out of our small specialty greenhouse. We've got long cucumbers, red, orange, and yellow bell peppers, red TOV tomatoes, brown "stripey" cocktail tomatoes, red "annamay" cocktail tomatoes, and a variety of heirloom tomatoes. This week we harvested about 270lb of fresh produce from our 1100 square foot greenhouse.

All our produce this week went 7 hours north the Navajo Nation as a donation. We were able to provide almost 850 pounds of tomatoes and 150 heads of lettuce.
We are proud to be considered an essential service during these difficult times and are trying to do our part by donating to local organizations weekly.
Thank you to the Navajo Nation for helping to distribute CEAC's fresh produce to those in need this week!

Had our biggest harvest of the season so far! Plants are looking forward to warmer weather and we are looking forward to more tomatoes!
