Sadly, our school will close permanently this Friday May 21st. We want to thank you for supporting St. Mark's Preschool and Kindergarten for 54 years and being a part of our school community. We hope to see you in the future at Climbing Tree Community School!

Our exploration of the holiday season continues this week. Today, the children in our Wild Things preschool class were busy at work creating crafty gingerbread houses!

The Preschool Cool Cats are learning about fairy tales this month and made magic potions! Each group used measuring cups, pipettes, tongs, pitchers, and large mixing spoons- tools that allow the children to build their fine motor muscles. The necessary ingredients for these potions: flour, rock salt, liquid watercolor paint, herbs and spices, water, and the final ingredients: vinegar and baking soda!

The Pre-K Javelina class learned about St. Nicolas Day which is celebrated in Holland on December 6th. Children leave their shoes out and St. Nicolas comes and brings them treats in their shoes. We decided to try it and each left a shoe out, and look what happened!

The Preschool Cool Cats class made sand slime this week to wrap up their desert unit. The children added and mixed the ingredients, then played with desert creatures in their slime! The children enjoyed playing a game of 'Guess who made these footprints' with their slime. Can you guess who made the imprint???
