Schedule your Glassblowing Experiences now! We are closing down the Hot Shop for maintenance and repairs during July and August but you have the rest of the month to come and make something unique with our glassblowers. We've just begun working with CARS to make multiple kinds of donations super easy! They not only accept used car donations, they also take stocks, assorted large equipment, even property!

Join Brian on the Torch in our Flame Shop! Head over to sonoranglass.org and you can find the Torchworking classes under the class tab. From there just pick the project you want and it will take you to a calendar to choose your day and time. With 9 regularly offered projects and the occasional speciality classes, there is something for everyone! Classes are all 30 minutes and designed for beginners. So come down and see what you can create when you melt glass!

Last days to join Joseph Cavalieri’s Workshop, Images on Glass, that will be held June 29- July 2nd here at SGS- in the air conditioned Warm Shop! will show us how to make images on glass in a variety of ways that can be used as stand alone pieces or incorporated into future work. We have staff thrilled to take this Workshop as well and hope you’ll come see what all the excitement is about!

Spots still open for the Teen session of Camp Fuego June 8-12th, 9am-4pm. Campers get a comprehensive glass experience with hands on projects using fusing, blowing, and torchworking techniques. Everything you make is yours to take home and we will have an exhibition at the end of the week for your family and friends to see what was created during camp. This is a great way to explore the options here at SGS and see what you are capable of! Sign up through the website sonoranglass.org under events.

We are excited for our next visiting artist, Joseph Cavalieri who is joining us June 29-July 2nd to teach Images on Glass. Come learn how to silk screen, enamel paint, and airbrush your ideas and images onto glass. Don’t stress if you can’t draw, there are stencils and guides and ways to trace the images! If you’re incredible painter, come see how your work translates on glass. This class is exciting for a wide range of students and we are happy to offer this opportunity to our community of artists and crafters- in our air conditioned space!
