Lessons are customized to fit each student's learning style and musical goals. My mission is to inspire students to grow in their knowledge and love for music. Here's a little bit of information about me and my passion for music. Who I am:
My name is Jana Sweet, I was born and raised in Tucson, and I have an unquenchable love for music. Currently, I am a composer, arranger, and private piano and music composition teacher. My goal is to take students to the next level when it comes to their music education. I want to see my students have fun, fall in love with music, and become well-rounded and skillful musicians. Educational background:
-Graduated with a degree in Music Composition with high honors from Cedarville University in 2022.
-Studied music composition with Dr. Austin Jaquith (4 years) and the Tucson Symphony's Young Composers Project (2 years).
-Studied piano with Dr. Ryan Behan (2 years), Dr. John Mortensen (2 years), and Carolyn Rapp (6 years). Lessons:
-Piano Lessons: I love teaching all ages from beginner to early advanced levels. Lessons will focus on technique, rhythm, theory, and artistry. Lesson durations range between 30-60 minutes.
-Composition Lessons: Lessons teach students about the theory, construction, history, and artistry that goes into creating music. Students will learn things like "how to write a good melody", "how to create interesting chord progressions", and SO much more! If you love being creative and want to learn more about how music works, these composition lessons are perfect for you. And the best part is that you don't have to be able to play an instrument in order to take these lessons. Lesson durations range between 30-60 minutes.
