Four days early, but today felt like the perfect day to tell this story… 💜
Six years ago, I was really trying to figure out if opening a nail academy in the middle of a whole PANDEMIC was one of the craziest decisions I had ever made. 😂
I’m not even gonna lie, I thought about putting it off for another year. But the problem was…I had already been putting this dream off for the last couple of years. At some point I knew I had to stop waiting for the “perfect” time and just do it.
My biggest question was, are students actually going to come?!
Wellllll… apparently that answer was YES. 😂
Within HOURS of announcing the academy, I had people calling ready to sign up. It happened so fast, I didn’t even have a way to take their payments yet! 🤦🏾♀️😂 I was literally figuring it out as I went.
And looking back now, I’m so glad I did.
Six years later, we’ve celebrated 12 graduating classes, made more memories than I could ever fit into one carousel, and watched so many people walk through these doors with a dream and leave ready for something completely different in their lives.
And somewhere in the middle of helping change their lives… this academy changed mine too. 🥹
Today also happens to be the first day of our newest class, so sharing this a few days before our actual anniversary feels pretty full circle.
What started with an empty building, some keys, a vision and a whole lot of faith became so much more than I could’ve imagined.
Happy almost 6 years, MJnailz Academy. 💜
