Congratulations to Terrie Ashbaugh (MM 1999) and the Arizona Women's Chorus, who received a 2026 Creative Capacity Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona. This grant was awarded in recognition of the many ways the ensemble enriches the Tucson community through the power of choral music, and will support the choir’s 2026-27 season.

Dr. Davis is back!

She’s excited to rejoin Drs. Higgs, Molina, and Wiest in the choral department and make music with the Wildcats again.

She’s ready to jump back into the fun.

Congratulations to (almost) Dr. Brandon Brown, who was the recipient of the 2026 NANM Central Region Award, which was presented at the National Conference of the National Association of Negro Musicians in July. He also was just elected to the national board as the Central Region Vice President. Brandon previously served as the President of the Chicago Music Association, Br. 1 of NANM. Thank you for your service to this historic organziation at the local, regional and national levels!

Congratulations to UA alum Jacob Christopher Walters (BM vocal performance) who has been hired to serve as the Associate Conductor of the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus! During his time at UA, Jacob held numerous musical and organizational leadership positions, including as an officer, soloist and section leader for Symphonic Choir, among others.

We are so excited to welcome Jacob Walters to the TABC team! He will be working primarily with Prince Voices and Vesey Voices. We are thrilled to have such a wonderful addition to our staff.
