Conoclinium coelestinum, or blue mistflower, is a wonderful late season plant for pollinators. Here is a Gulf Fritillary butterfly feasting on its nectar.

We found this very cool Sphinx moth caterpillar hiding in the leaves yesterday in the garden! This is why it’s so important to leave your leaves this Fall. The leaves provide shelter for many insects to overwinter.
