Mary Wilson Recknagel is a fellow of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) and is also an adjudicator with the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD). She has served as the Vice President and Treasurer for the Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators (FUSTA). Recknagel began competitive Highland Dancing at the age of 25 and garnered many awards and trophies, including Second runner-up in multiple S.E. She is the Director of Highland Dancing for the Stone Mountain H.G., Culloden H.G. Her students have competed all over the United States Scotland, and Canada, including the United States Highland Dance Championship (USIR). Her students have also performed at Callandwalde, Chastain Park, Celtic Christmas (Emory University) and the Stone Mountain Military Tattoo.
