There's something special about the last EAL Certification course of the year. Maybe because that's where my own journey began 14 years ago.

In 2012, I flew to Saskatchewan to take my EAL Certification with Cartier Farms. I'd just left my corporate career behind and had a dream of combining my passion for horses with my experience developing leaders and building strong teams.

I knew the certification would give me the tools to bring that dream to life. What I didn't know was just how much that one decision would change my life.

Fourteen years later, I'm still doing what I love. I've built a business, met incredible people, witnessed countless breakthroughs, and had the privilege of helping others pursue their own dreams.

And it all started with taking that first step.

That's why I love teaching the final certification course of the year. There's something incredibly satisfying about finishing the year having accomplished something meaningful, knowing you're heading into the new year with new skills, new possibilities, and a plan to make things happen.

Now, I'd love to help someone else take that step. Maybe it's you.

If you've been dreaming about doing something meaningful with horses, whether it's starting your own EAL business, expanding the work you already do, or finding a new way to make a difference, there's still time to make 2026 the year you begin.

Our FINAL EAL Certification course of 2026 starts in just 10 days!

šŸ“ Tryon, North Carolina

Live Online: October 26–28, 9 AM–12 PM ET

Hands-On Training: November 5–7

You'll gain the skills, confidence, proven curriculum, and ongoing support to begin creating powerful learning experiences with horses.

I can't promise where this journey will take you. But I can tell you that 14 years ago, I couldn't have imagined where it would take me.

Fourteen years ago, I took a chance on my dream. What could happen if you took a chance on yours?

Don't let another year pass wondering what might be possible.

How awesome is this? šŸ™Œ I’ve always had so much respect for Boyd, and seeing him explore the value of natural horsemanship adds to that.

When someone of his caliber is willing to try something new, reconsider his perspective and share what he’s learning, it encourages others to do the same.

I personally wish every riding school started with this foundation. Learning to understand and communicate with our horses from the ground gives us so much to build on, whatever our equestrian pursuits.

Love seeing this, Boyd!

While I was away, Liv had some intermittent lameness in her right front leg. Of course today when the vet could come, she lunged well and had no sensitivity in the hoof. So the big concern was a tendon injury which was ruled out, then we had to check for a joint issue. A flexion test was done to see if this is an area we needed to x-ray. The joint is flexed tightly for a period of time and then the horse is asked to trot off. Lameness is graded based on how she moves. Lameness or head bobbing would tell us we need to look closer…and that could have a big impact on her jumping future šŸ™šŸ™ā€¦.

šŸ A Belated Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Dreamwinds Family! ā¤ļø

I’m a little late with my Thanksgiving wishes this year, but I have more reasons than ever to be grateful.

I’ve just returned home after spending 2½ weeks in Canada helping my parents make the transition into a retirement and assisted living community.

It was a busy few weeks, with a few unexpected challenges along the way, but I’m happy to say my parents are now settling into a beautiful new home where they’ll have the care and support they need.

There’s something humbling about reaching the stage of life when the people who have always taken care of you begin to need you to take care of them.

And what a privilege to be there for them.

As I reflect on these past few weeks, I have so much to be thankful for.

ā¤ļø My family. For the precious time spent with my parents, and for being able to come together as a family, support one another and help my parents through this important transition into a new chapter of their lives.

ā¤ļø My husband, Dirk. Who held down the fort at home and made it possible for me to be where I needed to be.

ā¤ļø Our incredible Dreamwinds team. Logan and Aria, who took such wonderful care of our horses and farm family, keeping everything running beautifully in my absence. Knowing everything was in such capable hands meant more than I can say.

ā¤ļø The life we’ve built. One that allows me to do work I love, surrounded by amazing people and animals, while having the flexibility to show up for the people who matter most.

And finally, I’m grateful for our Dreamwinds community. For the people who trust us with their teams, their personal growth and their dreams. For our graduates who are out there making a difference through horses. And for everyone who has been part of this journey.

These past few weeks have been a wonderful reminder of something we talk about often at Dreamwinds.

Life isn’t just about what we accomplish. It’s about the relationships we build, the people we lift up and the moments when we choose to show up for one another.

Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, navigating a new chapter in life, or simply going about your everyday routine, I hope you’ll take a moment to appreciate the people who make your world a little better.

Make the call. Take the time. Say thank you. And never underestimate how much simply being there can mean to someone.

From all of us at Dreamwinds, Happy Belated Canadian Thanksgiving! šŸ

My heart is full, and I hope yours is too. ā¤ļø

Ever feel like you’re standing still while the world keeps spinning?

I’ll never forget the moment I finally "arrived" in my corporate career. I had the title and the success I’d worked so hard for, but it was followed by a sinking feeling that I was wrong. My heart just wasn't in it anymore.

We often worry about the "cost" of making a change: the energy, the time, or the discomfort of the unknown. But there’s a much higher price tag on staying exactly where you are when you've outgrown the path you're on. That realization was the turning point that led me to opening Dreamwinds.

The comfort zone is cozy, but nothing grows there. When we stay the same, we trade our potential and joy for a safety that isn't actually serving us.

Our horses are masters of the present. They move with purpose. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to take that leap, this is it. The cost of change is an investment in yourself.

What’s one small shift you’re ready to make this week?

It’s been a sad week for the Canadian equestrian community following a tragic trailer accident in BC.

We shouldn’t need such an event to remind us how truly blessed we are to have the precious moments we have with our horses. Let’s all be sure to soak in those moments today.

I’m still traveling and struggle with this extended time apart. But my herd and I are connected. I’m certain they feel my love.

I’ll be home soon and until then I’ll be grateful. Grateful they are getting the best of care and enjoying their best life. But boy I sure would love to bury my face in their manes right now.

Today, we invite our equestrian community to pause. ā¤ļø

Over the past day, we have witnessed an incredible outpouring of love, compassion, and support from across the equestrian community.

In the face of unimaginable loss, we are reminded of something that connects us all.

It’s not the ribbons, the competitions, the disciplines, or the barns we call home.

It’s the horses.

The ones who teach us patience, give us courage, carry our dreams, and become part of our families.

Today, take an extra moment.

Stand a little longer beside their stall. Give them an extra scratch. Breathe in that familiar smell. Listen to them quietly eating their hay.

And remember how fortunate we are to love these extraordinary animals.

To those grieving, please know that your equestrian community continues to hold you close.

One community. Bound together by our love for horses. ā¤ļø

Congratulations to our newest Dreamwinds/Cartier Certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitators!

After three intensive days of learning, practicing, problem-solving, laughing, supporting one another and, of course, working alongside some pretty incredible horses, they did it.

They arrived with different backgrounds, different goals and different dreams for how they want to use Equine Assisted Learning. They leave with the skills, tools and confidence to begin creating meaningful experiences that help people connect, learn and grow.

Certification weekend is always one of my favourite parts of what I do. Watching someone go from learning the Building Blockā„¢ exercises to confidently stepping into the facilitator role is pretty special.

And while certification weekend may be complete, this is really just the beginning. I can’t wait to see where each of them takes EAL and the people whose lives they will impact along the way.

Please join me in congratulating our newest EAL Facilitators! šŸ“ā¤ļø.
