First Day Of After School At M-Power Means Two Things:

1. Kids trying to find the right bus at pick-up!

2. Bus Evacuation Drill

In the bus evacuation drill, we discuss the three doors and how to open each: driver’s, passengers’ (swing out door they use), and emergency (at back).

The drivers’ door is a regular boring old car door.

The swing out door is cool because it’s normally only opened by the bus driver.

The emergency door is fun because it’s got a big red handle and they get to sit in the back floor and jump out.

Every rider has to practice opening the side door and emergency door on their first day!

Just another way we work to ensure our students’ safety.

Last day of Summer Camp! The theme this week was School Success.

Today we looked at the logos/mascots for each school that our campers will be attending. Logos help build cohesion between people and give them a central image to rally around.

We also looked at the bios for the principals and assistant principals. The more you know about a person, the more connected you feel!

Abstract art was on the agenda in summer camp.

The campers created their own ninja obstacle course today. Each camper was in charge of a certain part of the course and had to teach everyone else how to navigate their part. It was a great way to build camaraderie, confidence and speaking skills.
