Back by popular demand, our Winter Scarf Workshop is being offered again on Saturday February 7th, 10am - 4pm.

In this one day class, you sit down at a fully prepared loom and get to weave your heart out… and transform all your feelings into a beautiful scarf! Perfect for those just tryna dip their toes into weaving to see if it’s something they want to dive into.

Backstrap weaving class this past spring! If you don’t know about Open Doors English, they’re offering English as a new language classes for free, and host wonderful hands on programming like this!

This was my second time teaching a weaving workshop with ODE, and it’s always an amazing crew from literally all over the world!

It’s been an insane season ( ) and I can’t believe I haven’t posted a picture of the farm until now!

Amidst the mayhem of life, I totally forgot it was Chuseok 추석 yesterday! I was like OMG I didn’t do anything to celebrate… but then some of my dear friends helped me harvest the last of my Korean Indigo and I was like, oh wait, THIS IS A CELEBRATION!!! (Thank you so much Jum, Haydee, Lena & Indira!) 🌱🌱🌱💙💙💙🌕🌕🌕

In conjunction with the exhibition “Seeds of Survival and Celebration” at the Cornell Botanical Gardens, we gave a printing workshop using indigo paste from our last years harvest. Best part was running into dear friends, and friends of friends 💙💙💙

In the summer of 2022 I had the opportunity to teach alongside Elisha (and many other incredible crafts peoples) at the Thompson Island Cultural Camp in Akwesasne. During Elisha’s workshop, we learned her method of finger weaving to create straps for our baskets and bags. This July Elisha is bringing this incredible class to Trumansburg!

About Elisha

Elisha is a textile artist, specializing in traditional Indigenous finger weaving. She learned to weave when she was 16, from Wampanoag women she worked with. Elisha is Kanien’kéha (Mohawk), a nation part of the Rotinohsión:ni Confederacy, and over the years she has studied Rotinonhsión:ni weaving.
