sound company Fantasy #6 I will give them a low price to get the job then get paid what I am worth later. NO YOU WONT it is far better and easier to GET YOUR PRICE than to RAISE YOUR PRICE all you do by low bidding is establish yourself as a low end supplier that isnt worth a decent wage and if your client cant afford you today it is highly unlikely they will pay you more once you show them you will work cheap

Sound company fantasy #5 It's all about the BASS, nothing ruins a mix more completely than throbbing chest pounding bass, you money channels are the VOCALS, get them right and use the low end to be the fill , keep is balanced with the mids and highs, nobody wants the bass to punch them in the gut or move their bowels

sound company fantasy #4 Line Arrays sound better and you need one, this would be true if you were doing production for 100,000 folks in a football stadium, but for your local festival, your club gigs and day to day bread and butter jobs, POINT SOURCE is a far better choice if you are buying line arrays and you are not a top tier sound provider nationwide you are just stroking your ego thinking "The Look" will make up for you lack of skill

Sound company fantasy #3 there is MAGIC in the microphone, a mic is a mic is a mic, you are not a recording studio you are a live event production company, if you cant get first class performance out of a sm58 and sm57 hang up your sharpie because you dont know wtf you are doing
