Trumansburg Community Nursery School TCNS is a play-based, parent-cooperative nursery school for 2-5 year olds. We offer affordable 2, 3 and 5 day programs in our convenient downtown location.

We are a non-profit, parent-cooperative school for 2-5 year old children. We offer a balanced program focused on developing the whole child through free play, exploration and activities in our rich indoor and outdoor spaces. We emphasize activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and contribute to the child’s self-esteem and awareness of others. Our school is an i

nclusive space that builds lifelong bonds between families in our community. PLAY IS LEARNING:

TCNS offers a play-based program in a nurturing environment that supports each child’s individual learning. Children experience language, math, and science through meaningful play experiences in dramatic imagination, building, art, and the senses. Free play allows children to practice their developing social-emotional skills and interpersonal problem solving. Students graduate from TCNS well prepared for a successful transition to kindergarten and a life of learning. PART OF A COMMUNITY:

Families are an integral part of TCNS. On a regular basis, families assist teachers in the classroom, reading to and playing with children, and providing healthy snacks. Children benefit from the involvement of many adults (parents, grandparents, teachers, community members) working together to provide a warm and enriching preschool experience. Through TCNS activities, families meet each other and their child's friends and teachers, strengthening the supportive bonds in our community.

We are so grateful for the Trumansburg Fire Department. They visited us this past Friday to talk about the importance of fire safety. We got to try out the fire hose, get into the fire truck and learn how to stop, drop and roll. It was a great morning with our local heroes.
