Supporting students of all ages and experience levels is at the heart of the Capital District EOC’s mission.

Earlier in the week, we were especially excited to welcome a group of local Liberty Partnerships Program - NYSED students, in partnership with our sister organization, the Schenectady Outreach Center, for a tour of our facilities and an introduction to the wide range of programs and opportunities we offer.

Here’s a great photo of Tom Glasser, our legendary Building Trades instructor, working with a student back in 2004.

It’s also worth noting that Tom is still teaching and still inspiring new generations of skilled tradespeople.

The times may have changed since then, but the spirit and mission remain the same.

Fore!

The Capital District EOC’s very own Mike Markou, Executive Director, and Alton Campbell, Associate Dean for Instructional Services, recently had the opportunity to participate in the 32nd Annual U.W. Marx Golf Classic at the Country Club of Troy. The event helped raise funds for the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation, supporting its continued commitment to the Honors College.

Established in 2023, the Honors College’s mission is to attract future scholars and develop leaders engaging in a rigorous curriculum with an emphasis on academics, service, leadership and diversity. Each student selected to the Honors College receives a scholarship from the Foundation to support their educational expenses. The Honors College will welcome its fourth cohort of students in the fall of 2026.

We are proud to share a few great photos of Mike and Alton on the course alongside Dr. Rubén Barato, Vice President of Student Affairs, and Gerard Marino, Vice President of Administration, from Hudson Valley Community College.
