Last week, Communities In Schools of Montgomery County kicked off our Pledge to Be Present campaign at East Middle School, West Middle School, and Montgomery Central High School!

Our Student Support Specialists are encouraging students to make attendance a priority because every day in school is another opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. We're proud to partner with Montgomery County Schools to help students show up and make every day count.

We had a great time at Open House tonight for our middle and high schools! 📚✨ It was wonderful to see so many students and families as they prepared for a new school year.

We were also grateful to partner with FirstHealth to provide food boxes for families during Open House. Thank you to FirstHealth for helping us ensure families have access to additional support as they prepare for the new school year.

We wish all of our students, staff, and families a fantastic 2026–2027 school year! 🚌✏️✂️❤️

Last week, our Executive Director, Katie Hursey, and Board Chair, Amy Frieary, attended the Communities In Schools of North Carolina Spring Leadership Retreat in Durham alongside CIS leaders from across the state.

The retreat provided an opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and focus on planning for the year ahead. Through meaningful discussions and goal-setting activities, we explored new ways to strengthen our impact and better support the students and families we serve in Montgomery County.

We are grateful for the chance to connect with fellow CIS affiliates and bring back fresh ideas and inspiration as we continue our mission of surrounding students with the support they need to succeed.

💕 Congratulations to Paige Roberts, Assistant Director and Elementary Education Program Director, and her husband, Kenny, on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl! We are so excited for their growing family and know she is already so loved. A special congratulations as well to proud big sister, Lilly, as she welcomes her new best friend. 💕👶🎀
