Saturday we recognized our Upward Bound graduating seniors, and other participants, for their excellent work in high school and the amazing scholarships and college or work experiences they’re decided to pursue after graduation! 🧑‍🎓 Under Ms. Anderson’s leadership, the UB staff have made a tremendous impact on the lives of so many young people and we are so proud to have them as a part of our JWS Center for Student Success. Future scholars 🧑‍🏫 presented their research 🔬 today at TROY and we are especially proud of our McNair Scholars and students who participated! These young ladies and gentlemen are intellectually curious 🧐 and achieved an impressive goal of presenting their research as undergraduate students 🧑‍🎓. Way to go, we’re proud of you! 👏

Congratulations 🎊 to the Alpha Lambda Delta Outstanding Freshman Award Winner, Mr. Bruce Eldredge! The winner of this award and scholarship must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.75 their FR year, exhibit a devotion to academic excellence and co-curricular involvement. ⚔️

It’s always good to host our international students in the Center!

The team members in the JWS are now officially Mental Health First Aid trained by the Mental Health National Council and SpectrCare. We happily spent our first day back in the office going through an all day training so we are prepared to assess the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions and share the resources available at our university, and in our community, with our students.

🎅✨ Our annual Christmas party in Eldridge Hall was a blast! We enjoyed delicious food, festive games, and plenty of holiday cheer. We’re so thankful for a wonderful year of serving our students and can’t wait for all that’s ahead in the new year! 🎄❤️

Congratulations to two of our JWS team members, Mrs. Rebecca Money Normans, Director of our Learning Center, who won the caller 📞 award for customer service and Dr. Chanukah Anderson, Director of Technology & Assessment, who received her pin for 20 years of service to the university. 👏 well done! 👍
