Between the two international styles, Minaya was the standout star, as she got her arm raised in 12 of 13 trips to the mat this week (previously 7-1 in FS)!

Bailey is headed home with a combined record of 11-2 (6-2 in FS)!

For the 3x State finalist/2x defending Queen, Guilmette, she finished undefeated (14-0) to be double All-Tourney in 2026 after posting a 10-1 (7-0 FS, 3-1 GR) stat sheet last summer!

Ramirez tallied 14 total dubs (14-1; 7-1 in FS); while Frankian was a strong 13-2 combined!!

Akyali (12-2; 8-0 in FS) and Moyer (11-3; 7-1) more than made a fine showing of themselves to boot!!

Down to their last opportunity to break into the win column; our Junior ladies ended the week in the Hoosier State on a high note as ๐‘ฒ๐’š๐’“๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’ ๐’€๐’‚๐’…๐’๐’๐’”๐’Œ๐’š, ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’…๐’‚๐’๐’š๐’ ๐‘ฏ๐’Š๐’๐’, ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’๐’‚ ๐‘ฎ๐’“๐’†๐’ˆ๐’ˆ, and ๐‘บ๐’‰๐’†๐’‚ ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’๐’”๐’˜๐’๐’“๐’•๐’‰ all took turns picking up dubs in head-to-head contests to enable NY to topple Arkansas, 38-31!

After just missing All-Tournament distinction in freestyle earlier in the week (5-1); Gregg put the final touches on a 12-1 vitae when she swept all seven of her GR matches!!

While team triumphs never quite materialized at the onset of day #1 at the USAW Women's 16U National Duals...

The solo feats of 3x NYSPHSAA Finalist/2x Defending State Champion, ๐‘จ๐’—๐’‚ ๐‘ฎ๐’–๐’Š๐’๐’Ž๐’†๐’•๐’•๐’†, went a long way in providing reason to smile for the Empire faithful!!

Unscored upon (26-0) with all three of her wins coming by way of fall; the nationally-ranked ( #16 by both SI and MatScouts) Shenendehowa rising junior picked up her biggest victory of pool-play when already leading 2-0, she'd go head-hunting and found her target for the 4-point throw that yielded a 1:15 stick of 2026 Prep National runner-up, ๐‘จ๐’Ž๐’Š๐’๐’๐’š๐’Š๐’๐’๐’‚ ๐‘ฎ๐’“๐’†๐’†๐’, of Pennsylvania!

One round earlier, she stockpiled four takedowns to establish an 8-0 cushion before launching Minnesota's ๐Œ๐š๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ค (2x State 6th; 2026 USAW 16U Folk 4th) straight to her back for what would have been a 12-0 superiority dub had the Plains(wo)man not registered a 1:51 fall instead!!

Guilmette (155_ was one of three members of the 16U sorority to go unblemished during the Pool C portion of Wednesday.....

She was joined by ๐‘บ๐’†๐’“๐’“๐’‚ ๐‘จ๐’Œ๐’š๐’‚๐’๐’Š (Phillips Andover Academy) & Burnt Hills-Scotia-Ballston Spa's ๐‘ฝ๐’Š๐’—๐’Š๐’‚๐’๐’๐’† ๐‘ด๐’๐’š๐’†๐’“ (knocked off 2026 PIAA Bronze medalist, ๐†๐ข๐š๐ง๐ง๐š ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐š๐ซ๐ข) at 105 and 125 pounds!

With all three of their rosters (14U, 16U, Juniors) deeply affected by forfeit issues; the morning session on a collective front in Indiana has been rough for the ladies of the Empire....

But individually, Niskayuna-Schenectady departing senior, ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’๐’‚ ๐‘ฎ๐’“๐’†๐’ˆ๐’ˆ, has been nothing but a bright spot!!

The 2x NYSPHSAA State Bronze medalist/2026 Double Blatnick Queen/2026 NE Regional JR FS champ [Gregg] has gone 2-0 thus far among her Junior division peers, with both victories coming at the expense of a respective state titlist....

In her opening bout, the Sacred Heart University bound S2 standout fought off of her back early and trailed for the entirety of the match before taking down and putting Alabama's ๐€๐ง๐ง๐š๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š ๐‡๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ (3x State placer/2x finalist/2026 Champion) in danger en route to securing the fall with just :49 remaining in regulation!

As a follow-up, she turned a then 2-0 lead into a 2:22 stick when she stuffed a shot attempt and then locked up a cradle on a continuation of the sequence to topple 3x Arizona placer/2x titlist, ๐๐ซ๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ž๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ!!!

Gregg (140), along with Windor's ๐‘ฒ๐’š๐’“๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’ ๐’€๐’‚๐’…๐’๐’๐’”๐’Œ๐’š (110; 2026 State 3rd) and ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’Š๐’•๐’๐’Š๐’ ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’“๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’๐’Š๐’ (135; 3x State Placer/2026 Fargo 16U AA) of Bellport are the only Junior women succeeded in getting their arms raised in each of their Pool A appearances!

Yesterday, we proudly awarded the first-ever Jeff Pasinello Scholarship to Tamarac senior wrestler Eddie Miller.

Jeff was more than a wrestler and supporter of our program. He was one of our Tamarac Junior Bengal coaches who helped shaped many of our young athletes in our wrestling family.

This year, our community came together to honor Jeffโ€™s legacy by hosting the inaugural Jeff Pasinello Freestyle & Greco Tournament. Thanks to the incredible support of our wrestlers, Curby Training Center, Tamarac Friends of Wrestling, families, coaches, clubs, volunteers, sponsors, and donors, we were able to fund and award this scholarship for the very first time.

Congratulations to Eddie Miller, a wrestler who exemplifies the hard work, resilience, leadership, and character that Jeff valued so deeply.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this scholarship possible. Together, we are ensuring that Jeffโ€™s impact on the Tamarac and Junior Bengals wrestling communities will continue for years to come. โค๏ธ๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

As of the 2027-2028 season, the premier/elite student-athlete women of the mats will now be afforded the privilege of relishing in the "best of both worlds"....

As of Wednesday afternoon, the freedom is there for creme de la creme to shoot for the stars in both the classroom and the competitive arena!!

Backed by a $10 million dollar endowment to safeguard/ensure the long-term stability of the program; Columbia University announced that women's wrestling will become the 32nd sanctioned NCAA DI varsity sport on campus (the first newly initiated team in close to two decades; Men's & Women's Squash in 2007)!

At the helm of the school's club program 2021, while also serving as the Head Ladies coach for the NYC RTC (recently cornered ๐€๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ ๐„๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ to a victory at the Senior WTT Challenge Tournament), ๐‘ฌ๐’Ž๐’Ž๐’‚ ๐‘น๐’‚๐’๐’…๐’‚๐’๐’ ( also a Former U.S. National Team staff member) was deservedly selected to be the backbone/inspiration of this new chapter!!!

Despite the fact that the inaugural campaign is still over a year away (as noted above); Randall must have sensed that aura of "movement/growth"; as she has been thriving on the recruiting front during the 2026 cycle!!!

The incoming class featuring the likes of ๐‘ญ๐’“๐’‚๐’๐’„๐’†๐’”๐’„๐’‚ ๐‘ฎ๐’–๐’”๐’‡๐’‚ (2x NJSIAA State finalist/2025 Champion; 7th at the 2024 UWW U17 World Championships; 3x Pan-American Age-Group Gold Medalist; 2025 Fargo Junior 5th; 2025 Super 32 5th), Italian age-group National Queen, ๐‘จ๐’–๐’…๐’“๐’†๐’š ๐‘ท๐’๐’–๐’๐’…๐’”, & 2026 Canadian U19 National Champion, ๐‘ฌ๐’Ž๐’Š๐’๐’š ๐‘ฏ๐’‚๐’“๐’“๐’Š๐’”....

Other prominent future "felines" include:

*๐‘ป๐’‚๐’”๐’‰๐’‚ ๐‘ฉ๐’๐’‰๐’๐’“๐’‚๐’…---2026 Prep National Bronze Medalist)

Not overlooked is the fact that CU will also be anchored by a Junior version of NY's own ๐‘ด๐’Š๐’‚ ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’๐’Š๐’๐’”....

The former 2x NYSPHSAA Girls State titlist/2023 Fargo 16U Bronze Medalist) out of Ballston Spa was dominant (1 pin, a pair of 10-0 TFs) in seizing the 138-pound brass ring at the 2026 USAW Women's Collegiate Club National Championships as a true freshman!
