The Rensselaer Model Railroad Society has recently gained access to the NEB&W page. We have an update on the present and future of the club.
In 2019 the NEB&W was cut up and moved to storage in the basement of 258 Hoosick. At the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester RPI planned to terminate the lease of 258 Hoosick. Since then, the focus of the club has been preserving as much of the historic NEB&W layout as possible by distributing the cuts of the layout to interested organizations and individuals. The lease of 258 Hoosick will end in February 2026. The club will receive new space in the ’87 Gym for a new layout.

Some great modeling on a HO scale Rutland and D&H layout.
NEB&W artwork on the layout.
One of the first structures on the layout was finished off with the help of John Nehrich. John provided the photo file to create the painted on advertisement adorned to the Hugh Duffy coal shed. The same structure was modeled on the NEB&W layouts rendition of Rutland.
