The Sage Fund for Excellence

Russell Sage College announced today that it has received $810,000 from the Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation, Inc. to support future nurses and preserve the legacy of Julia O. Wells, as the foundation dissolves and distributes its remaining assets. Five educational institutions in the greater region will receive the funds, and Russell Sage has been awarded the largest share.

Russell Sage nursing students have been the fortunate beneficiaries of funds from the foundation for many years, making it possible for them to pursue their dreams. We are so grateful to the foundation board for trusting us to preserve the incredible legacy of Julia O. Wells, a 1918 graduate of the Memorial Hospital Training School for Nurses in Albany, New York, who dedicated her life to the field. And we're excited that the more than 650 nursing students at Russell Sage will have the opportunity to receive this support.
