We celebrated Music Monday! A dance party in Preschool, and the Pre-K Tigers revisited instruments by taking rhythm sticks out to the playground!

Yesterday, the Pre-K Tigers decided to collaborate to build the unifix cubes as long as possible. They assigned roles and worked through needs to complete the line. Once it was done, they problem solved together to figure out how to count them, and came up with the system of counting (and marking) 10 at a time. One child counted 10 and held the spot, one wrote the number 10 on paper, and one passed the paper. For the last few, they worked out what the last paper needed to say. Finally, they all counted by 10s with teacher support to figure out the total.

In this interactive four-week class, parents will learn effective communication strategies and understand how and why common struggles occur.

Week 1- April 27: Effective directions and connection
Week 2- May 4: Brain development, states, and how to respond
Week 3- May 11: Assertive parenting communication
Week 4- May 18: Holding boundaries and recognizing triggers

This class is intended for parents of children ages 2-8. Space is limited.

We had a fabulous time of knowledge sharing and connecting at the Michigan AEYC Annual Conference!

In March, we’re excited to offer VIP nights. These are opportunities for the children to bring a “very important person to school” for some fun activities. This might be a parent that doesn’t often drop-off, a grandparent, or other special adult in your child’s life.

Due to space, please limit to one adult per child, and no siblings.

The Pre-K Grizzlies created scenery, costumes, assigned roles, and acted out Jim Gill’s Soup Opera!

The preschoolers sprayed snow today to explore color mixing while developing fine motor strength.

Our staff volunteered at Troy’s MLK Day of Service today. What a great feeling to support our community and to see so many alumni families!

Our staff will be volunteering at the Troy School District’s MLK Day of Service on Monday. We hope to see some of our Somerset families and alumni there!
