This course prepares students to take the GED exam. The GED is a national high school equivalency assessment to help individuals address their need for advancement that results in a high school equivalency diploma. Our instructor provides individualized and group instruction in math, science, social studies, reading and writing. Using a Predictor Test, we will work with you to assess your test readiness.

On Monday, August 3, 2026, Assistant Director of Workforce Development and Community Education Christian Leahy visited NY Creates in Albany, NY to help celebrate four Apprentices who completed their Registered Apprenticeship Program.
In NY Creates' first apprenticeship program cohort, the four apprentices completed 10 credits of related instruction education in addition to 2,700 hours of intentional on-the-job training with an experienced mentor that helps focus their skills in the Industrial Manufacturing Technician trade outline.
Congratulations to the apprentices on all your courage, hard-work, resilience, and integrity as you complete this milestone in your career! We at Hudson Valley Community College are very proud of you!
