We are so excited to welcome our newest Board Member, Dr. Amy Porter!

Dr. Porter has joined the Lincoln County R-III Education Foundation, bringing with her nearly three decades of experience in education, leadership, and adult learning. A dedicated educator and instructional leader, Dr. Porter has served as a teacher as well as a building and district leader in Troy, where she led school-wide initiatives focused on student achievement, collaborative learning, and positive school culture.

In addition to her K–12 leadership experience, Dr. Porter has worked extensively with adult learners as an adjunct professor at Missouri Baptist University and the American College of Education, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in educational leadership, classroom management, and literacy integration.

Beyond her work in education, Dr. Porter plays a significant leadership role in our community through two Troy-based nonprofits. Buddy Bags provides food to more than 400 children each weekend, ensuring they have the nourishment they need outside of school. Bright Futures Lincoln County supports families by meeting basic needs such as clothing and shoes, while connecting them to resources that promote long-term stability. Both organizations have been serving the community for over 15 years and continue to thrive under strong local support.

Throughout her career, Dr. Porter has been recognized for her contributions to education, including involvement in a National School of Character designation and multiple Promising Practice Awards. In retirement, she continues to live in Troy and is eager to invest in our community in a new way through the LCR3EF.

Ms. Williams received a 2025 Education Foundation grant to bring a brand-new collection of large-print books to the TMS library!

🎉 Congratulations to Ms. Duffie and Ms. Schildroth on the success of their 2025 Education Foundation Grants! 🌟

Speech & Language Pathologists Ms. Duffie (William Cappel Elementary) and Ms. Schildroth (Troy South Elementary) received two Foundation grants to provide students on their speech and language caseloads with new therapy materials, manipulatives, and innovative iPad apps to enrich their therapy sessions.

Congratulations to Ms. Hazel and Ms. Jedding for successfully implementing their 2025 Education Foundation Grant for 'Books in a Bag'! Here is a look back at its impact this past year and the exciting plans for the upcoming school year:

"Books in a Bag remains a valuable resource for building strong connections and extending social-emotional learning (SEL) into the homes of our students. During the 2025–2026 school year, it was clear that students, families, and staff members who engaged with the materials benefited from the meaningful conversations and shared experiences the bags encouraged. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, there is strong enthusiasm for expanding the program’s use. With more intentional integration into classroom routines and a focus on connecting SEL work from school to students’ home environments, Books in a Bag has great potential to become a more impactful and widely used resource.
