Sheet Metal Workers Local 292 Training Center

Congratulations to the winners of Sheet Metal Workers Local 292 2024 Apprentice Contest. The winners were announced at last nights union meeting. 1st place and Best Welder award goes to Christian Amy, second place goes to Cody Spaller, and third place goes to Jeremy Swain. Everyone who participated did a fantastic job.

Over the last 2 weeks some of our apprentices had Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training. This consisted of classroom and hands on experience in multiple lifts. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the training and is now certified to work from MEWP’s. Thank you to Oscar at AOSH Services for the knowledge and experience while training.

A few apprentices got to install a new awning for our local knights of Columbus today! This was tig welded by Nathan Radzik and installed by Adam Cummings, Dan Shuwaloff, and Jonathan Stachowski. Great job!

Due to the rapidly escalating nature of the COVID-19 health crisis, we are closing the Sheet Metal Workers Local 292 training center until further notice. No classes will be held. Apprentices are not to come to school at this time.

We recognize that with the constantly changing COVID-19 situation around the world, this is an unprecedented time for everyone - a time that, for many, is filled with uncertainty. The 5 days of Cloverdale Mobile Elevated Working Platform training is complete. What an awesome class and amazing opportunity for our apprentices. Thanks again Steve Wozniak from Cloverdale. Today we had the best score on the barrel run challenge. John Paul Johnson with a score of 1 minute 13 seconds on his first try.
