Teaching, learning, practicing, and doing open source. The Rensselaer Center for Open Source has been running strong for over three years.
The center has supported 169 students working on 128 open source projects, providing them with valuable experience in one of the leading software development paradigms of today. The students efforts have resulted in several applications that are used within the Rensselaer community and around the world.

Ronna Min went to the hackathon at Yale University (YHack) and their group got a runner up award for one of the sponsor prizes!

Profs. Turner, Goldschmidt and krishnamoorthy wrote a chapter for a new Open Source book being released today by Red-Hat.. They discuss the Rensselaer Center for Open Source (RCOS) and how they bring open source to 200 students per semester in their chapter!

A Shipwreck, 500 Years Old, Appears on the Baltic Seabed Its condition is pristine, but its identity is a mystery. For now, maritime archaeologists call it Okänt Skepp, Swedish for “unknown ship.”
