Please join us in congratulating Ashley Sanders, our IT Communications Specialist, on being named Pike County Schools’ Support Employee of the Month! 🎉

Ashley plays an important role in keeping our schools, families, staff, students, and community connected. From managing district communications across our websites, social media, and phone systems to creating videos, commercials, and graphics that showcase the amazing things happening throughout our school system, Ashley helps tell the story of Pike County Schools with creativity, care, and dedication.

Beyond her many talents, Ashley brings a positive attitude, a helpful spirit, and a willingness to work with everyone. Her creativity and commitment help highlight the accomplishments of our students, teachers, and staff while keeping our community informed and connected.

All Pike County Schools will dismiss Friday, October 9th, at 12:30 PM. Please remain alert for possible changes to this schedule, as there continues to be some uncertainty regarding the timing of impacts to Pike County from Hurricane Isaias.

All notices will be posted on ParentSquare and social media platforms. All other worksites will close at 2:00 PM.

Pike County Schools is proud to celebrate Pike County High School for earning the Alabama School Counseling Program of Distinction, presented by the Alabama School Counselor Association.

This recognition honors schools that demonstrate an exemplary comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program. Earning the distinction requires an extensive review of the program, including evidence of student outcome data, curriculum and services, targeted interventions, closing achievement and opportunity gaps, and continuous program evaluation.

This achievement also makes PCHS eligible to pursue the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP®) designation. The national recognition is awarded by the American School Counselor Association to schools demonstrating exemplary implementation of the ASCA National Model.

Mrs. Nikita Patrick-Thomas, PCHS School Counselor, accepted the award and is pictured with Dr. Donnella Carter, Pike County Schools Deputy Superintendent, and Cindy Davis, Alabama School Counseling Program of Distinction Coordinator.

Several colleges and universities across Alabama and beyond are waiving application fees during this special week. Some schools may require an application code, while others do not.

A milestone worth celebrating! 🎉✂️

Pike County Schools is proud to have celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the Academy Street Career Innovation Center in Troy!

This new space represents an exciting investment in students and their futures. This will provide hands-on experiences, industry-recognized skills, and meaningful pathways into high-demand careers.

We are grateful to the community leaders, education partners, elected officials, and countless individuals who helped make this vision a reality. Most importantly, we’re excited about what this opportunity means for our students and the possibilities ahead!
