We are so proud to see Dr. Christian Stanley and the Pike County Agriscience Academy featured in the latest Milken Educator Spotlight! 🌱💜💛

Dr. Stanley’s passion for his students, agriculture, and making a difference in our community is truly inspiring. We are fortunate to have him representing Pike County Schools and providing students with opportunities to learn, grow, and prepare for their futures.

Congratulations, Dr. Stanley! We are proud of you!

Dr. Christian Stanley’s (AL ’25) students are engaged in every aspect of farm management aligned with their coursework at the Pike County Agriscience Academy—Alabama’s only dual-enrollment agricultural program—located on the campus of Goshen High School. On the 25-acre space, they raise cattle and goats, manage greenhouses, restore tractors, and more—supplying some 120 pounds of lettuce weekly for school lunch programs, as well as meat and plants to the community. Stanley not only fuels students’ passion for feeding the world, but also instills in them compassion, confidence and selflessness to contribute meaningfully to society. That’s food for thought they will never forget.

Before the first bell rings... before classrooms fill with students... our Pike County Schools family comes together with one shared purpose: preparing to make a difference.

Yesterday's Institute Day was a wonderful start to the 2026-2027 school year. We celebrated the dedication of our faculty and staff, recognized Years of Service recipients, honored our Principal of the Quarter and Support Employee of the Year, and were inspired by an outstanding keynote from Dr. Tommie Mabry. His message challenged each of us to lead with purpose, encourage every student, and remember the lasting impact we have each day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Institute Day such a success. We are grateful for the passion, commitment, and heart our employees bring to Pike County Schools.

We're ready for another great year of serving our students and community. Let's make it our best one yet! 💜💛

We're honored to see the Academy Street Career Innovation Center featured by WSFA! This once-historic school has been transformed into a place where students will gain hands-on experience, earn industry credentials, and prepare for successful careers in high-demand fields.

This is more than the reopening of a building; it's an investment in our students, our workforce, and the future of Pike County.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. We can't wait to see our students thrive!

📢 IMPORTANT BACK-TO-SCHOOL UPDATES

As we prepare for an exciting new school year, Pike County Schools is implementing two important changes for our schools beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.

⏰ New HIGH SCHOOL Bell Schedule
High schools will implement a 5th Block Flex Period. As a result, the high school day will be extended by approximately 12 minutes.

🚌 Updated Afternoon Bus Routes
To accommodate the new dismissal schedule, afternoon transportation will follow a new loading order:
• Elementary schools will begin loading buses at 3:10 p.m.
• Buses will then travel to the high schools, with pickup beginning at 3:20 p.m.

We encourage families to allow a little extra time and patience during the first few days of school as everyone adjusts to the new routine. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work to provide the best possible educational experience for our students.
